T-minus 1 Day: Iceland

Tomorrow I leave for a month-long trip to Iceland, and I have no idea how half my summer flew by. Between family members flying in and out, hiking around Colorado, not to mention a wedding at our house, I’ve barely had time to look up. So this is a mixed bag of a post, including 1.) Shots from my hiking and off-roading adventures and 2.) Some info about my upcoming Icelandic experience.

Yeah, It’s been a busy two weeks. And it’ll be an even busier month- I’ll be moving from campground to campground around Iceland, studying geology with 19 other students (none of which I’ve ever met before). I fly into Reykjavík on July 5 and don’t return stateside until August 7- with questionable internet connect and no laptop in between. So regular posting will be hard, but I’ll be updating my Instagram the whole way. At takeoff tomorrow I’ll be thinking how appropriate it is that the Icelandic word for “goodbye” is Bless.

For now, here’s a great Buzz Feed article about the idiosyncrasies of being a Third Culture Kid.

Enjoy!
