Vienna in Black and White.
Just found these shots I took on a barely 24-hour stop in Vienna last fall.
I’m sure I barely scratched the surface when it comes to truly discovering Vienna, but from my outsiders perspective the city was a bit of a fairy tale. The gorgeous architecture alone is enough to make you feel a little more regal, and I found myself in the perfect place at the perfect time. The autumn day we spent exploring the city on foot was bright and cold
In the midst of ornate cathedrals and somnolent parks, the city felt borrowed from another time. I was hardly surprised when I later learned that Vienna holds a cinderella-esque ball each year in the historic Hofburg palace, its attendees doning lavish ball gowns and handsome military-style jackets.
If I ever get the chance to return to Austria, I hope it’s to play dress up at the Kaiserball in lovely Vienna.
